Scholars at Risk

The University of Siena dates back to 1240, when a tradition of teaching and research was established in one of the most fluorescent free towns of Middle Age’s Italy. Since then, the attraction of international scholars and the respect of academic freedom have been cultivated within our university.

The University of Siena is a member of the network Scholars at Risk Italy

SAR Italy is a partnership between Italian higher education institutions and research centres and SAR, an international network of higher education institutions aimed at fostering the promotion of academic freedom and protecting the fundamental rights of scholars across the world.

Guidelines for hosting at-risk scholars

Il documento si propone di:

  • delineare le procedure amministrative generali;
  • stabilire i requisiti minimi dell’accoglienza da parte delle strutture ospitanti;
  • sottolineare il ruolo e l’importanza dell’attività di ‘mentoring’ nell’accompagnamento degli/le studiosi/e;
  • delineare alcuni percorsi per supportare gli/le studiosi/e nella ricerca di nuove opportunità lavorative.
