Le borse Pegaso sono finanziate con le risorse del PR FSE 2021/27 e rientrano nell'ambito di Giovanisì (www.giovanisi.it), il progetto della Regione Toscana per l'autonomia dei giovani.
Il dottorato di ricerca in Economics delle Università toscane è offerto congiuntamente dalle Università di Firenze, Pisa e Siena. Il programma richiede tre anni di studio a tempo pieno e mira a formare gli studenti per una carriera come economisti in istituti di ricerca. La caratteristica distintiva del dottorato è il suo approccio pluralistico. L'accento è posto sulla dimensione storica dei fenomeni economici e sulla ricerca di interazioni con altre discipline, come il diritto, la biologia, le neuroscienze e la psicologia. Questa prospettiva multidisciplinare si distingue come unica nella formazione post-laurea italiana e permette agli studenti di acquisire l'ampiezza di vedute necessaria per dare contributi significativi nei complessi campi dell'economia e delle scienze sociali. Inoltre, questo ha consentito di attrarre un numero di studenti stranieri superiore (intorno al 40%) a quanto normalmente avviene in altri dottorati italiani.
The Ph.D. programme in Economics of the Tuscan Universities is jointly offered by the Universities of Florence, Pisa and Siena. The programme takes three years of full-time study and aims at training students for a career as economists in research institutions. The distinctive feature of the Ph.D. programme is its pluralistic approach. Emphasis is given to the historical dimension of economic phenomena, with courses in both economic history and the history of economic thought, and to seek interaction with other disciplines, such as law, biology, neurosciences and psychology. This multidisciplinary perspective stands out as unique in Italian postgraduate education, and allows students to acquire the breadth of views necessary to make significant contributions in the complex fields of economics and social sciences. Moreover, this approach has attracted a higher number of foreign students (around 40%) than is normally the case in other Italian Ph.D. programmes.
