the MICRO4ASIA project

From 15 to 18 September 2025, the MICRO4ASIA project held a key international workshop in Brno, Czech Republic, hosted by the Faculty of Economics and Administration at Masaryk University. The event brought together 36 participants from European and Southeast Asian partner institutions, including representatives from Croatia, Italy, Vietnam, and Laos.

The University of Siena took part in the workshop as a core academic partner of the MICRO4ASIA consortium. The university contributed to the discussions on recognition mechanisms for micro-credentials, sharing practices from the Italian higher education system.

In particular, Prof. Antonio Fasano from the Department of Business and Law shared the experience of the University of Siena in the recognition of academic credits and its approach to aligning micro-credentials with institutional and national standards.

The workshop focused on drafting a comparative analysis of micro-credential frameworks, exploring recognition tools, and preparing upcoming piloting activities across partner countries. It also offered an opportunity for partners to align strategies and strengthen collaboration under the Erasmus+ Capacity Building programme.

The MICRO4ASIA project aims to foster the development, implementation, and recognition of micro-credentials in Laos and Vietnam, enhancing the flexibility, quality, and internationalisation of higher education in the region.
