Multidisciplinary intensive course for Post-graduate Palestinian Students

Course objective
The aim of the project is the in-depth study of some key topics indicated as priorities for the Palestinian university system. Interdisciplinary teaching and research methodologies will be used to generate a global understanding of the issues and help identify appropriate and effective responses to the various needs and complexities of a social, economic, health, environmental and humanitarian crisis-related nature.

The course is aimed at young graduates from the top Palestinian universities with various scientific backgrounds, and therefore from different faculties. The course will be characterized by a multidisciplinary approach in order to provide participants with comprehensive training for the management of the issues dealt with.

The role of the Italian Development Cooperation will be to foster collaboration between the universities involved in the programme and facilitate contacts with the Palestinian universities. As part of the programme, the students and the seven rectors of the Palestinian universities will attend the Conference on University Cooperation in the Middle East in October 2010.

The project is promoted by the University Cooperation Office (Directorate General for Development Cooperation of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs) with the financial support of the Associazione di Fondazioni e di Casse di Risparmio (ACRI) and realized in collaboration with the Universities of Siena, Bologna, La Sapienza in Rome, Pavia, Palermo and the Politecnico di Milano.
