Italian language course for international students

Italian language course for international students enrolled in one of the Degree Courses taught in English

This language course is primarily designed for first-year students enrolled in a degree programme of the University of Siena taught in English. In the case that places remain available, second-year students of Master’s degree programmes taught in English can also apply by 10 November 2015.

LANGUAGE LEVELS

 

The levels of linguistic competence are planned in correspondence to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR): A1, A2, B1.

 

The entry level of students will be determined by a placement test, administered on the first day of the course. Students who have attended at least 80% of the total amount of hours will be admitted to the final examination. Upon successful completion of the examination, they will be awarded a Language Certification worth 4 ECTS credits and receive a transcript of records which indicates the number of hours attended, exams passed, and credits acquired.

HOW TO APPLY

Upon completion of enrolment in Siena, students can apply for the Italian language course. Students can fill in, sign and deliver the application form to the International place/URP (via Banchi di Sotto, 55 Siena) with a copy of their passport. The form is also avaliable at the desk of the International Place.
The course is totally free and will be open to a maximum of 75 international students. Requests will be accepted in order of arrival. Attendance to the course is mandatory and students must attend at least 80 % of the scheduled classes.

The University reserves the right to take measures against students who will not attend the courses as required.
