How To Apply

To enrol for Synapsis 2004, fill in the application form and send it to the following e-mail address:

synapsis@alma.unibo.it

As all communications concerning the course must be sent via e-mail, applicants need to have an e-mail address.

A committee appointed by the organisers will select sixty students, who will be informed by e-mail

Applications should arrive between March 29th and May 23rd, 2004..
The total cost of the course (registration, room and board, tuition) amounts to:

410 EURO for a double room
510 EURO for a single room

As soon as candidates have been accepted, they will be asked to pay a deposit of

100 Euro

If a student withdraws from the course, the deposit will not be refunded. The rest of the fees must be payed on arrival in Pontignano.

A number of scholarships are available, some of them reserved for students of the University of Siena. Application for these scholarships should be made only after students have been selected for the course.

Application Procedure:
Students wishing to participate in Synapsis 2004 must fill in an application form specifying:

- degrees/qualifications already held and degrees/qualifications for which they are currently studying
- the languages they know
- the seminar they wish to attend (first and second choice)
- the kind of room required (double or single). We will do our best to take this preference into account on a first come, first served basis.
- whether they attended Synapsis 2000 and/or 2001 and/or 2002 and/or 2003

Applicants must also attach a curriculum vitae indicating:
· the subject of their Bachelor's/Master's dissertation
· the university they graduated from
· the topic (where applicable) of their doctoral thesis, whether in progress or completed
· the university where they submitted their doctorate or where they are studying for it
· any publications
· the professor(s) with whom they have worked
· the supervisor(s) of their research or thesis
· current comparative research or research projects
