How To Apply

 

To participate in Synapsis 2003, send a completed application form to the following e-mail address:

As all communications concerning the course will be sent via e-mail, applicants need to have an e-mail address. The organisers will not send course material and information by post.

A committee appointed by the organisers will examine all applications and select fifty participants for the course. Successful candidates will receive a confirmation letter together with the reading lists for their chosen seminar.

Applications should be sent between 24 March and 30 May 2003.
The total cost of the course (registration, food and accommodation) will amount to:

410 EURO for a double room
510 EURO for a single room

As soon as candidates have been accepted, they will be asked to pay a deposit of

100 Euro

Students who withdraw from the course will not be refunded the deposit.The full payment for the course must to be made during the week of your stay at Bertinoro.

Several scholarships will be offered. Students must apply after having been selected

Application Procedure Applicants wishing to participate in Synapsis 2003 must complete an application form in which they indicate:

- degrees/qualifications held and degrees/qualifications for which they are currently studying
- the languages they know
- the seminar(s) they wish to attend (plus a second choice)
- their choice of room (double or single). We will do our best to take account of this preference on a first come, first served basis.
- whether they attended Synapsis 2000 and/or 2001 and/or 2002

Applicants must also send a curriculum vitae indicating:
· the subject of their Bachelor's/Master's dissertation
· the university they graduated from
· the topic (where applicable) of their doctoral thesis, either in progress or completed
· the university where they submitted their doctorate or where they are studying for it
· any publications
· professor(s) with whom they have worked
· supervisor of their research or thesis
· current comparative research or research projects

Applicants should also provide a brief summary of the information stated in their CV (500-600 characters) which may be circulated among the eventual participants.
