The Doctorate is oriented on research. Doctorate students follow these research groups and projects:

IMAGO. IMAGE AND WRITING IN EUROPEAN CULTURES, a research with National importance financed by the University of Siena and by M.U.R.S.T., planned and co-ordinated by Michele Rak.

IMAGO 2. HISTORY OF ILLUSTRATED BOOK IN EUROPE, a research by the University of Siena and by M.U.R.S.T., planned and co-ordinated by Michele Rak.

LEZIONI DELL’ACCADEMIA DI PALAZZO DEL DUCA DI MEDINACELI, a research for an editing edition (historic annotations and research on literary sources) by Michele Rak, published by the Istituto per gli Studi Filosofici di Napoli, in the book collection directed by Giovanni Pugliese Carratelli.

PERMANENT EUROPEAN OBSERVATORY ON READING, a research for the Rete Grinzane Europa - Grinzane Europa Network financed by the European Union, planned and directed by Michele Rak, co-ordinated by Carmela Lombardi.
