Welcome
to this web page.
My name
is Maria Alessandra Rossi (but nobody ever called me with
such a long name!) and I was the first to obtain a Ph.D. in
Law and Economics from the University of Siena.
I'm fascinated
by the possibilities offered by multidisciplinary research
and this is one of the reasons why I've chosen this Ph.D.,
although there is a number of other disciplines besides law
and economics I'd like to know more of (especially biology
and anthropology). My current research interests are primarily
related to the economic analysis of Free/Open Source software,
but the study of intellectual property-related issues has
been my point of departure and is likely to remain among my
major interests for the foreseeable future, together with
the theory of the firm and competition policy.
